Playing with Polymer 0.5

For my new website, I decided to have a go at using Polymer for it. Polymer uses web components, follows Google’s Material Design guidelines and is generally awesome.

“Web Components usher in a new era of web development based on encapsulated and interoperable custom elements that extend HTML itself. Built atop these new standards, Polymer makes it easier and faster to create anything from a button to a complete application across desktop, mobile, and beyond.” polymer-project.org

I used various existing web components from Polymer 0.5.1, added some custom CSS  and kind of wrote a small web component for myself to create the elements on the “Favourites” page, using Data Binding to make it easy to add new elements.

(please be aware browser compatibility might not be 100%, so bugs are possible)

After creating this prototype, Polymer has progressed much further and has now been released as a 1.0 build.
